WEST Ham keeper Richard Wright has joined Southampton on loan for a month.
The Championship side brought the 30-year-old in as emergency cover with three of their keepers currently out injured.
Wright - who joined the Irons in the summer - has found first team chances hard to come by this season because of the outstanding form of current number one Robert Green.
He has managed just three League Cup games, and West Ham goalkeeping coach Ludek Miklosko said: "We thought he just needs to play.
"There was an opporunity for him to get some games and I just wish him luck.
"Hopefully he will do well. That's what he needs."
Miklosko was full of praise for the former Ipswich, Arsenal and Everton stopper, adding: "Richard is a fantastic lad.
"He has definately helped Robert this season - he has pushed him hard and is a great goalkeeper. He has a great attitude."
