WEST HAM defender Matthew Upson has been selected in Fabio Capello's squad to face France next Wednesday.

Upson has clearly impressed the England boss, as the 28-year-old has been picked in each of the two teams the Italian has picked during his fledgling reign.

If the former Arsenal player is selected to play in the game at the Stade de France it will be his eighth cap.

He played the full game against Switzerland alongside ex-Hammer Rio Ferdinand, who also makes the squad.

New fans favourite Freddie Sears is in the Under 19's squad for Tuesday's clash against Russia, following a strong performance against Blackburn at the weekend where he scored the winning goal. He will be joined by James Tompkins.

Full England senior squad: James (Portsmouth), Carson (Aston Villa), Kirkland (Wigan); Bridge (Chelsea), A Cole (Chelsea), Johnson (Portsmouth), Terry (Chelsea), Brown (Man Utd), Lescott (Everton), Ferdinand (Man Utd), Wheater (Middlesbrough), Woodgate (Tottenham), Upson (West Ham); Barry (Aston Villa), Young (Aston Villa), Bentley (Blackburn), J Cole (Chelsea), Lampard (Chelsea), Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), Beckham (Los Angeles Galaxy), Gerrard (Liverpool), Hargreaves (Man Utd), Downing (Middlesbrough), Jenas (Tottenham); Walcott (Arsenal), Agbonlahor (Aston Villa), Crouch (Liverpool), Rooney (Man Utd), Owen (Newcastle), Defoe (Portsmouth).
