Chelsea Reserves 3
West Ham Reserves 0
(Barclays Premier Reserve League - southern section)
WEST Ham reserves' five-game winning streak was put to an end by an experienced Cheslea second string at Brentford FC's Griffin Park last night.
The Blues boasted Steve Sidwell, Claudio Pizarro and Serbian international Branislav Ivanovic in their starting eleven.
Irons boss Kevin Keen gave run outs to five Academy players, while Jimmy Walker and Henri Camare were the only first-teamers on view.
Peruvian star Pizarro got the ball rolling on seven minutes, lashing his shot beyond keeper Walker from a long keeper's kick.
Fabio Ferreira doubled the lead soon after the break, smashing the ball into the corner of the net.
And Jack Saville wrapped it up on 75 minutes when he met Phil Younghusband's cross to score with his first touch after coming on as a substitute.
The Hammers started the match brightly with skipper Jack Collison firing just over the crossbar after just 30 seconds.
But Chelsea soon found their rhythm and took the applied the pressure with Pizarro, Jimmy Smith and then Ivanovic all forcing Walker (pictured) into a series of fine saves.
Argentine youngster Franco Di Santo also should have done better with a missed header from close range.
At the other end, Lee Hales forced Blues keeper Stuart Searle into a fine save but the Hammers could not find a breakthrough.
The result sees Kevin Keen's men lose top spot in the southern section table with two games left to play.
West Ham: Walker, Miller (O'Neill 46), Spence, N'Gala, Widdowson, Stanislas, Hales, Collison, Kearns (Edgar 59), Stokes (Lee 89), Camara. Unused subs: Street, Harvey, Brookes.
