(FA Cup Third Round)
WEST Ham set up a potentially tricky fourth round tie with third round giant-killers Hartlepool United after comfortably dispatching Championship outfit Barnsley at Upton Park at the weekend.
Goals from Herita Ilunga, Mark Noble and Carlton Cole sealed the win, although the margin of victory could have been much greater for Gianfranco Zola's men, who will lead his troops to Victoria Park to face the Monkey Hangers, after the League One side defeated Premier League's Stoke City on Saturday to book their place in the next round.
The Hammers never looked in danger at the weekend, and they took only ten minutes to take the lead as the outstanding Noble's free-kick found its way to left-back Ilunga at the far post, and he showed good composure to stroke home his first goal for the club.
Noble then added the second himself, as he twisted and turned past two defenders in the box, only to be hauled down before he could pull the trigger. And he stepped up to fire the resultant penalty into the bottom corner.
Barnsley went close through the impressive Diego Leon, who twice struck the woodwork, but the Irons put the game out of the visitors' reach when Cole rose to glance Ilunga's cross past the despairing Heinz Muller.
