WEST Ham's form man Scott Parker couldn't be happier with the way things are going for the Upton Park club.
Two wins and two clean sheets in difficult games against Manchester City and Wigan Athletic in the space of four days has given them genuine hope of a Uefa Cup place.
Indeed, the winning goal at the JJB Stadium on Wednesday will surely be a contender for goal of the month as a succession of one-touch passes left the Wigan defence all at sea before Carlton Cole curled a beautiful right-footed shot into the far corner of the net.
And Parker, who has been instrumental for the Hammers this season, was delighted with the team's efforts.
“It was a very, very good goal. One which involved a few passes and one-touch playing leading up to it and it was a great finish by Coley,” gushed the former Chelsea man. “The build-up play was fantastic. Over the last few weeks – well, especially since the manager has come in – we seem to be playing some good stuff.
“This was pleasing because all the stuff we do on the training ground resulted in us playing in the way the manager wants us to play and got the reward of a good goal.”
Parker was also full of praise for Cole, who despite his goal will now serve a two-match ban after being controversially sent off in midweek.
“Coley has been a different class this year. The goal was fully deserved, a great finish along with the other lads' contributions in the match, it was a pleasing result for us. One certainly we can push on forward again from.”
