WEST Ham's Jack Collison is hoping for a swift return to action despite twisting his knee in last week's win at Wigan.
The Welsh midfielder landed awkwardly during the game and was stretchered off, sparking fears that he had damaged ligaments in his knee. But a scan suggested he had suffered a strain, and he could return as early as two weeks.
With West Ham not scheduled to play again until Monday week, the 20-year-old could miss just one game.
The news is also better for Valon Behrami, who is expected to be out for a month, rather than the rest of the season, which many feared may be the case after horribly twisting his knee in an innocuous clash with Wayne Bridge during the Hammers' 1-0 win at home to Manchester City.
