WEST HAM boss Gianfranco Zola has moved to quell rumours that club captain Lucas Neill and defender Matthew Upson will leave the club this summer.
The Italian manager saw his team finish the season with a flourish, as they confined Middlesbrough to Championship football next year with a 2-1 win at Upton Park on Sunday.
But speculation is rife that Neill could leave, with Greek side Olympiakos understood to be interested.
Upson's commanding performances at the heart of West Ham's defence has also seen him linked with a move away, with London rivals Tottenham understood to be monitoring the England international.
However, Zola remains optimistic about keeping hold of two of his most influential players.
Asked whether Neill had played his last game for the Hammers Zola was defiant: “No, I don’t think so. Hopefully not, I think in the next few days there will be meetings and something positive will happen.”
He was equally bullish when questioned on Upson's future. “I don’t know anything about that. It looks to me that Matthew is very happy here and wants to stay and so it shouldn’t be an issue for us.”
Zola will have some big decisions to make in the coming weeks, with the futures of strikers David Di Michele and Diego Tristan, and midfielders Radoslav Kovac and Luis Boa Morte all uncertain.
Meanwhile, Scott Parker was named the club's Hammer of the Year after an oustanding season alongside Mark Noble in the centre of midfield.
Goalkeeper Robert Green was runner-up to the former Chelsea man, while 20-year-old midfielder Jack Collison was voted as the Young Player of the Year.
