TWO West Ham players helped England Under 21s demolish Azerbaijan on Monday night, leaving the young lions full of confidence ahead of the upcoming European Championships.
England Under 21s ran out easy 7-0 winners against their Eastern European opponents.
Hammers midfielder Mark Noble was named captain, while Irons defender James Tomkins made his debut.
Tomkins almost made a dream start to his under 21 career, when he nearly scored after 45 seconds, heading Adam Johnson's far-post corner against the inside of the post, before Michael Mancienne lashed the ball past Elchin Sadigov from eight yards.
Noble added the second after 28 minutes, with a little help from the keeper, his low shot bouncing against the upright and over the line off the goalkeeper.
The results means England will not lack self-belief when they take on Finland next Monday in their Euro 2009 opener.
