SHEFFIELD UNITED have beaten off competition from a host of clubs to sign West Ham's out-of-contract midfielder Kyel Reid, according to Sky Sports.
The 21-year-old's deal at Upton Park expired at the end of the season, and it is understood that the Blades have won the race for his signature, with Wolves, Birmingham, Burnley, Midlesbrough, West Brom and Newcastle all thought to have been tracking the youngster.
Reid is still listed on the player roster on West Ham's official website, although he has not been offered a new deal.
Reid signed professional terms with the Hammers back in 2005 and enjoyed loan spells with Crystal Palace, Wolves and Barnsley.
