WEST HAM touched down in Beijing this morning (Monday) where they will take on fellow Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City in the Barclays Asia Trophy.
A 23-man squad arrived in China and were greeted by hordes of fans and photographers.
The Hammers will take on Spurs on Wednesday in their first game of the tournament, and midfielder Jack Collison is relishing the prospect.
“Every time you play Spurs you are always going to have that added incentive as you always want to get one over on them,” he told the club's official website. “That is not just for yourself but it is massive for the fans as well so we're going to really enjoy that game. We definitely want to do well and win the competition.”
West Ham arrive in China after a productive pre-season trip to Austria, where, Collison insists, there was plenty of emphasis on ball-work.
“Instead of having us running all of the time, the manager has had us doing a lot of work with the ball. It is just as hard but enjoyable. It has been hard work but we are fully fit and in a really good frame of mind.”
