WEST HAM youngster Zavon Hines is hopeful that his goals for the reserves has caught the eye of Gianfranco Zola ahead of the team's trip to Wigan tomorrow.

Striker Hines smashed a hat-trick for Alex Dyer's reserves against Birmingham City in midweek and is keen to earn a place in the first XI, rather than the bench this week.

“I want to keep showing the manager what I can do ,” he told WHUFC.com. “I have been on the bench for the first team in all our games so far this season and then coming on in some of the games and trying to do my best. That is my aim, to come on and hopefully score goals to help the team.”

The Hammers take on Steve Bruce's Wigan at 3pm tomorrow.
