Bolton 3
West Ham 1
(Carling Cup third round)
WEST HAM were dumped out of the Carling Cup by Bolton Wanderers after extra-time despite leading with just four minutes remaining of normal time.
Herita Ilunga poked in the opener after Bolton failed to clear Alessandro Diamanti's corner to give the Hammers the lead.
But the visitors couldn't hold on to progress to the last 16 as the hosts' pressure told when Kevin Davies nodded in Matthew Taylor's cross.
That took the game into extra-time, and there looked like being only one winner when Taylor smashed a shot against the post. Defender Gary Cahill fired the Trotters ahead from outside the box before Johan Elmander wrapped the game up.
