GIANFRANCO Zola has admitted he would be interested in bringing Sol Campbell to Upton Park.

The former England international walked out on Notts County last week, just one game into a five-year contract. Having had his contract torn up, he is now unable to sign for another club until the January transfer window.

But Zola revealed that he is an admirer of Campbell, who enjoyed successful stints at two of West Ham's London rivals, Arsenal and Tottenham, and would be tempted to make an offer to the 35-year-old if he was in need of 'an experienced player.'

“Sol was a good player, he still is a good player. He's got experience and everything needed to be a good footballer,” said Zola.

“It's just down to him. With him it's personal and down to his desire whether he wants to be a top player. But other than that he's got everything.

“So if I was in the need of an experienced player, I would be thinking about him.”
