WEST HAM forward Anthony Edgar has today completed a one month's loan switch to League Two leaders Bournemouth.
The 19-year-old has made the move to the Cherries in the hope of gaining some valuable first team experience. He follows in the footsteps of his cousin, Jermaine Defoe, who made the same move from West Ham during his younger days.
Edgar will also hope to enjoy a similar level of success as Defoe, who scored 19 goals in 29 games for Bournemouth, including a post-war record of scoring in ten successive matches.
The youngster netted seven times in 22 games for the Hammers' Under 18 side, and he made the bench for the Carling Cup defeat against Bolton Wanderers last week, an experience he insists will prove invaluable to his development.
“It was a great experience,” Edgar told the club's official website. “I didn't get on but I was looking up at the players like Zavon Hines and I will learn a lot from that.”
He could make his debut at Port Vale on Saturday.
