WEST HAM number two Steve Clarke has backed the team to turn around their fortunes on the pitch after their worst start to a Premier League season in six years.
The Hammers have failed to win in the league since their opening day victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Clarke insists there are positives to be taken from the performances and that the points will soon follow.
“After six games it's a little bit too early to start pushing any panic buttons,” he said. “You have to know how you're group is and we're finding the group is quite positive.
“If you look at the six matches, there are a lot of good things to take from them. The only good things we haven't taken are the points. Hopefully, in the next six matches we'll take more points than we did in the first six and we'll start to climb the table gradually and can start to assess where we are.”
Clarke admitted to being frustrated after encouraging displays against Liverpool and in the second half against Manchester City last week have gone unrewarded.
“I was frustrated on Monday night rather than angry. I can see the talent we have in this group. You will have seen in some of the games that we have played, those against Tottenham and Liverpool, that we've almost played very well and lost.
“It becomes frustrating when you have a talent and an ability to win matches against very good teams and suddenly you find you're losing these games.”
