West Ham v Arsenal
Upton Park
Sunday October 25, 4.15pm
Last meeting: Arsenal 0 West Ham 0 (31-01-09). The Hammers managed to hold Arsenal to a goalless draw in a largely uneventful contest at the Emirates Stadium last season.
The opposition: The Gunners have won their last four league games, after successive defeats to both Manchester sides left many questioning their title credentials. But they are back in the hunt, sitting in fourth place, four points behind leaders Manchester United, with a game in hand.
Danger men: Cesc Fabregas has been in scintillating form for Arsenal so far this campaign. The 22-year-old Spaniard has already laid on nine goals for his team-mates, while he has also found the net five times himself. There are more ominous signs for the Hammers, as Andrey Arshavin and striker Robin van Persie have discovered their scoring touch.
Prediction: West Ham 1 Arsenal 3.
Did you know? Arsenal's latin maxim 'Victoria Concordia Crescit', which translates as 'victory grows out of harmony', was adopted by the club after it was used by programme editor Harry Homer in the final edition of the team's victorious League championship campaign in 1947/48. The motto was used on the club's badge until the latest crest was adopted in 2002.
Betting tip: Arsenal’s vulnerability at set pieces will encourage the likes of Matthew Upson to get forward and, after scoring last week, you can find odds of 40/1 with Paddy Power for him to get the first goal on Sunday.
