WEST HAM boss Gianfranco Zola has revealed that he would be interested in bringing Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli to Upton Park in January.
The Italian has admitted he intends to delve into the transfer market in the New Year after being hit by knee injuries to strikers Carlton Cole and Zavon Hines.
And he has refocused his radar on 19-year-old Balotelli after being told to look elsewhere by Milan in the summer. Balotelli has scored 15 goals in 45 appearances for Jose Mourinho's side, although he was recently axed from the senior squad after the fiery Portuguese manager criticised the forward's attitude in training.
Zola hinted he will return for Balotelli, however, he expects to face stiff competition for the youngster's signature.
"If Inter want to talk about him in January we are ready," Zola told Corriere dello Sport.
"Mario has extraordinary potential, but he must understand that he has to improve, showing the right attitude.
"Last summer there was a time when we asked about him. In January, we will see what intention they have.
"And sure if he does leave Milan we would not be the only ones who want him."
