West Ham v Chelsea
Upton Park
Sunday, 4pm
Last meeting: West Ham 0-1 Chelsea (25-04-09). Solomon Kalou's second-half strike sealed the points for Chelsea towards the end of last season. The Hammers' frontline then was unrecognisable to the one now, with Diego Tristan and David Di Michele partnered in attack.
The opposition: The title seemed Chelsea's to lose just a few weeks ago, and they are attempting to do just that, according to recent results. Carlo Ancelotti's Blues were edged out by Champions League hopefuls Manchester City, while they lost their winning streak at Stamford Bridge as Everton held them to a 3-3 draw last week.
Danger men: Where do you start? Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack pose a clear goalscoring threat from midfield, but the strike partnership of Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba is arguably the most potent in Europe at present. Anelka is enjoying the best form of his career, while Drogba is widely regarded as the most dangerous frontman around at present, leading the scoring charts on 13 goals.
Did you know? Club founder Henry Augustus Mears was ready to sell his plot of land at Stamford Bridge, going against his colleague Frederick Parker. But when Mears' pet dog bit his friend on the hand he had a sudden change of heart and decided to build a team and stadium there.
Prediction: West Ham 1 Chelsea 3.
Betting tip: Alessandro Diamanti has found his shooting boots. After scoring in midweek he may find the net on Saturday.
