WEST HAM look set to sign Blackburn striker Benni McCarthy for an undisclosed fee after a deal was reached between the two clubs, according to BBC Sport.
The Hammers are believed to have thrashed out a deal for the 31-year-old South African frontman, following prolonged speculation.
West Ham also looked on the verge of signing Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco, after Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp conceded defeat in his pursuit of the striker, revealing that the player's agent had told him terms had already been agreed with West Ham.
Redknapp told BBC: “I spoke to his agent, he said he was going to West Ham, so I left it with the agent.
“I would take him on a loan. He would be a good loan signing playing in different systems. He's a good footballer and an interesting player on a loan but I think he's gone to West Ham.”
