WEST HAM ran out 5-1 winners against the Academy All-Stars in Academy director Tony Carr’s testimonial match last night.
The event saw the return of brothers Rio and Anton Ferdinand, who partnered each other in the centre of defence for the All-Stars before the Manchester United man was taken off after 28 minutes.
Chelsea stars Frank Lampard, John Terry and Joe Cole all turned out for the event but, with the Barclays Premier League title still up for grabs on Sunday, all three were not given permission to play.
Alessandro Diamanti gave West Ham the lead with an excellent curling shot on 31 minutes.
The game also saw the return of Hammers legend Paolo Di Canio, who featured for both sides.
Young Cristian Montano extended West Ham’s lead in the second half and that was extended on 80 minutes when Jordan Brown exquisitely lobbed Marek Stech in the All-Stars goal.
Williamson reduced the deficit soon after but West Ham went up the other end to score again, Freddie Sears sweeping home after a Di Canio dummy.
Manager Gianfranco Zola made a 20 minute cameo for West Ham and he played in Di Canio, only for Montano to pinch the ball off the Italian and fire home for the final goal of the net.
