WEST HAM boss Gianfranco Zola has urged the team to finish the season on a high against Manchester City today.
The Hammers have already secured their Premier League status, although they slumped to a disappointing 3-2 defeat at Fulham last week.
City have also suffered a depressing week, having slumped to a single-goal defeat to Tottenham at Eastlands in midweek, which ensured Spurs clinched fourth place and Champions League football next season.
Although there is little riding on the game, Zola is keen to give the supporters something to shout about after a largely disappointing campaign.
“I don’t know how significant it is for them (City),” said Zola. “For us it is very significant. It is the last game of the season and we are in front of our supporters. If we win the game, we may be able to climb up the table. There is a lot to play for and we are taking it very seriously.
“It is worth money for us to finish higher and also pride. The main objective was to still be in the Premier League and if we can also do that we can do even better.”
