LUIS Boa Morte will not face disciplinary action after apologising to West Ham owner David Sullivan for his open criticism of the club's chairman.

The Portugal international, whose contract is up this summer and is expected to leave West Ham, hit out at Mr Sullivan's recent comments in the press in an interview with the BBC. He was quoted as saying: “Mr Sullivan should have a bit more composure when he talks to the press to hammer the players, it's not helping anyone.

“The fact you have money doesn't mean you can say and do whatever you want.

“Everyone feels the same. Some people will take this kind of situation, some people like it, some people don't.

“Some people listen and don't even care about it, but people like myself, I've been playing football for 15 years and I've never had a board behind me like that.

“That's why I'm not pleased with them and hopefully next season they will change to help the club move forward.”

It was thought Boa Morte could be fined up to £130,000 by the club for the outburst. However, in a statement on the club's website the chairman declared the matter resolved after holding clear-the-air talks with the player.

Mr Sullivan said: “I greatly admire Luis as a player and he takes the passion he shows on the pitch into his personal life. Like me occasionally it boils over – so I know exactly where he is coming from.”
