SCOTT Parker has been included in Fabio Capello's provisional 30-man England squad for the World Cup, but West Ham striker Carlton Cole has been omitted.
Parker has been the shining light in the club's battle against relegation this season, while it was his goal against Wigan two weeks ago that confirmed their Premier League status.
However, Cole has been left out by Capello, following a dip in form in the second half of the season after returning from a lengthy knee injury.
Goalkeeper Robert Green and defender Matthew Upson have been included.
England will play two friendlies against Japan and Mexico before the final 23-man squad for the World Cup in South Africa is announced on June 1.
