WEST HAM will turn to Everton striker Yakubu if Carlton Cole is sold this summer, according to reports.
A number of sides, including Liverpool, Aston Villa and Birmingham City, are understood to be interested in Cole and, according to the Daily Mail, owners David Gold and David Sullivan have identified Yakubu as the man to replace him, should he leave Upton Park.
The club is set for major reconstructive surgery this summer, with Gianfranco Zola having already been sacked as manager, with Avram Grant the hot favourite to succeed him.
Sullivan recently revealed Scott Parker was the only player that did not have a price tag, while every other member of the squad could be let go 'for the right price'.
Luis Boa Morte is out of contract and is expected to be the first of several players to pass through the exit doors. Brazilian striker Ilan is another whose loan deal expires, with the club not thought to be keen on taking up the option of buying the player.
