WEST HAM defender Jordan Spence has penned a new one-year contract with the club.
Spence signed after returning from captaining the team to the semi-finals of the HKFC IP Global International Soccer Sevens event in Hong Kong.
The defender, who turned 20 on Monday, admitted he was pleased to get the deal done. “I'm pleased to get it sorted and to know that I'll be at the football club next season, so I'll be able to crack on and make progress,” he told the club's website.
Spence made his first team debut for West Ham during last season's final day 1-1 draw with Manchester City at Upton Park.
He spent the early past of last season with Championship outfit Scunthorpe United, following a stint at Leyton Orient the previous year.
