AVRAM GRANT has revealed he is not worried about West Ham goalkeeper Robert Green’s state of mind ahead of the England player’s return to Upton Park.
Green was dropped by England manager Fabio Capello after his now infamous blunder that gifted the USA an equaliser in the team’s opening World Cup game in South Africa last month.
However, Grant wasted no time in putting his faith in the Hammers number one, who will join up with the rest of his clubmates on July 19.
“What I say to my players is between me and them. But what happened in the past is in the past and I’m looking for a new beginning," he said.
“He (Green) is a great goalkeeper, he’s proved himself in the past. He’s a positive person and we are happy he’s here. I’m waiting to see him at training and I’m sure he will be OK.
"What happened to him happened to Iker Casillas against Switzerland in the World Cup and in my opinion he (Casillas) is the best goalkeeper in the world. It’s part of the game.”
