WEST HAM boss Avram Grant has revealed he will strive to keep Matthew Upson at Upton Park.
The England defender has been linked with a £7million move away from the Boleyn Ground, with Sunderland reported to be interested, while his current deal with the Hammers expires next summer.
But, in his first press conference as West Ham manager, Grant insisted he would do everything in his power to keep the 31-year-old.
“We will do everything to keep Upson. He's a good player,” said Grant.
“But the West Ham fans deserve to have players that want to play for the club and I only want players that want to play.”
