AVRAM GRANT has shrugged off suggestions he will find it difficult to work with West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan.
Speaking at his first press conference as Hammers manager, Grant was adamant that there would be no problems with the outspoken chairmen during his reign, revealing he has been assured all football decisions will be left to him.
“I didn't need (assurances) because the chairman said to me from the beginning they were bringing me in as the coach. He said that any decision on the players is your decision,” said Grant.
“I cannot agree for something else. I cannot work in a team where somebody else will decide about the players and it would not be my responsibility. I like the pressure and the responsibility. All the football issues are my responsibility and I have the final reward.
“I'm not involved in money. I don't want to be involved in the money situation and they don't want to be involved in the football issues.”
Grant's predecessor Gianfranco Zola was angered by comments made by co-chairman Sullivan in a matchday programme towards the end of his tenure last season.
