WEST Ham manager Avram Grant could be set to link up with another of his former Portsmouth players, with Aaron Mokoena another reported target for the Hammers, writes Craig Rodhouse.
Grant has been linked with a number of his former Pompey stars throughout the summer, with goalkeeper David James and forward Frederic Piquionne reported targets. But it now seems that defender Mokoena could be the next on his hit list.
Mokoena – who captained South Africa at this summer’s World Cup – told sources: "I have to confess my heart is still there at Portsmouth and they are offering me a new contract if I remain with the club.
"I can confirm that there are a number of offers from several big clubs - three in the English Premiership, two in Qatar and one in Turkey.
"There are a number of things I am still assessing, though, and I will decide some time next week."
The 29-year-old made 23 appearances for Portsmouth last campaign after his move from Blackburn last summer.
