WEST HAM continued their impressive pre-season campaign with their fourth successive win, this time over MK Dons last night.
Second half goals from Julien Faubert and Carlton Cole sealed the victory, while there were also positives at the back, the team registering their third clean sheet in as many games.
The game saw the return of the Hammers' World Cup contingent, Jonathan Spector, Matthew Upson and Robert Green – whose first save of the night was greeted by ironic cheers from the crowd.
Grant said of the game: “It was a good work-out. We are three weeks in to the pre-season and everything is going to plan more or less The players are improving all the time.”
He also told Upson and Green to put their World Cup misery with England – who were knocked out in the first knockout stage by Germany – behind them. “Robert is a good goalkeeper. He is doing his job and he is training well,” said Grant. “Also, Matthew Upson played his first 45 minutes as well. It was good for them and us.
“They are not children. They know disappointment is part of the game and they need to recover very quickly because they are playing for the team. What has happened has happened and we are looking forward. I have no worries at all, it was business as usual and they know that.”
