MARTIN O’Neill will take over at West Ham when Avram Grant is sacked after the club’s match against Arsenal this evening, according to reports.
BBC Sport claim former Villa boss O’Neill will replace Grant at the Upton Park helm tonight, with bookies also slashing his odds to be the next Hammers manager.
Grant’s future was discussed at a board meeting on Wednesday, with the Israeli given a temporary reprieve, although it is thought his time at West Ham is now at an end, with owners David Gold and David Sullivan ready to wield the axe.
Talks are understood to have been held with both O’Neill and Sam Allardyce, but it is the former that has reportedly been handed the task of rescuing the club’s season, with the side currently sitting bottom of the table.
