SUNDERLAND will try and sign West Ham striker Frederic Piquionne for £3.5million, according to reports.
The Daily Mirror claims manager Steve Bruce has targeted Piquionne after missing out on Stoke City striker Ricardo Fuller.
The Frenchman is the Hammers' top scorer this season, but may be tempted by the prospect of European football, with Sunderland riding high in sixth in the Premier League.
