THOMAS Hitzlsperger says he will have no problem celebrating a goal against former club Aston Villa this afternoon.
The West Ham midfielder will take on his old club at Upton Park today hoping to fire them out of the relegation zone in what is a crucial match in the Hammers’ run-in.
“I’m a West Ham player now,” said Hitzlsperger. “Although it was good at the time at Villa, our fans would be hugely disappointed if they had a player who doesn’t seem happy when he scores for the team.
“The Villa team has completely changed.
“The managers change frequently, there is a new owner and among the players it’s only Gabby Agbonlahor that I played with. But I still know the staff. I always follow them because I had a good time there and people looked after me.
“Usually I’m quite spontaneous and you’ll see a smile on my face.
“I would be delighted if we win the game and if I can contribute – it doesn’t take away from anything about having a good time there.
“First of all, I want to win the game. I’m not the type of player to prepare for any celebrations so I don’t know what I’m doing if I end up scoring a goal.
“We’re missing Scott Parker but I’m optimistic we’ll have a good game. Unfortunately we miss him for this game and possibly the week after.
“After such a disappointing game against Bolton you could see the players were disappointed.”
