West Ham United picked up a 2-1 friendly win at Colchester United this afternoon.
The Hammers suffered a blow when captain Kevin Nolan was forced off with a foot injury.
But the visitors took the lead when Nicky Maynard tucked away his second goal of pre-season.
West Ham doubled their lead when Maynard was brought down in the area and Mark Noble converted the penalty.
Anthony Wordsworth pulled one back but the Irons held out to seal the win over their Essex rivals.
