West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce insists Andy Carroll will end his goal drought sooner rather than later.
The Liverpool striker, who is on loan at Upton Park, failed to score against Southampton and his last Premier League goal came in April.
Allardyce told the club website: "Andy will score sooner or later but it's not about him scoring, it's about us winning.
"The old saying is if the front man plays well, the team plays well. Andy was putting more and more pressure on Southampton and their defenders to make more and more mistakes. We kept the pressure on them and they cracked in the end."
